A dual geographical DNA project studies the Y chromosome DNA (Y-DNA) of men and mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) of women and men from a specific location in the world. It can be as specific as a small location within a country, the whole country or perhaps a specific region. Limitations might be placed on the project, such as certain surnames, heritage or halpogroups.
