Family Historian

Family Historian is a genealogy software program designed and written by Calico Pie Limited, a UK software design and development company founded by Simon Orde in 1995.[1] Family Historian was named as family history software of the year by Your Family Tree magazine in November 2008. It was praised in particular for its ability to enter data directly from diagrams and for its multi-media capabilities.[2]
Customisation
Family Historian is highly customisable. Sentences in narrative reports can be easily customised. Columns in the record window can be easily customised to suit individual requirements. Family Historian is the family history program used by the Cruse/Cruwys one-name study. The screenshot below shows the Record Window which has been customised to include columns for the spouse surname, birth date, birth place, marriage date and marriage place. The columns have been sorted by life dates and surnames. It is easy to see at a glance how many individuals with the same surname are included in a large database.
