List of DNA testing companies

From ISOGG Wiki

Looks like there's another page on the wiki that lists companies by country. Should the two be merged? —Leah

The original idea was that this page would list the companies that offer genetic ancestry tests. There is a separate page with a List of personal genomics companies which covers companies offer health, traits, fitness, nutrition, etc. There's also another page with a List of forensic and ancient DNA laboratories. The boundaries between the different types of tests are becoming somewhat blurred so there could well be case for merging the two pages though as we are primarily focused on genetic genealogy rather than health in some ways it does make sense to keep a separate list. Following a recent discussion on the ISOGG list it's been agreed that it is not within ISOGG's remit to focus on companies offering health tests. There are far too many of these companies springing up now, many of which offer tests of dubious merit. ISOGG members do not have the time or expertise to monitor these companies. The old List of personal genomics companies has now been redirected to this page. Usable content has been migrated to this page. It was thought that companies offering whole genome sequencing tests should also be included on this list as such tests have an application for the genetic genealogist.
