DNA-Fingerprint is a former genetic genealogy testing company. It was founded in August 2005 by Thomas Krahn.[1] DNA-Fingerprint was a spin off from its parent company biotix GmbH which started up in 1999. Biotix offered paternity tests in 2002 with Thomas Krahn as managing director.
DNA-Fingerprint was acquired by Family Tree DNA in 2006 and became a fully owned subsidiary of it.[2] Thomas Krahn, DNA-Fingerprint's principal and lead scientist, moved to FamilyTreeDNA's Houston headquarters in August 2006 to head up their Genomics Research Center, a new state-of-the art laboratory. Krahn left FamilyTreeDNA in November 2013 to set up his own DNA testing company YSEQ.
