Debbie Kennett has been a member of ISOGG since 2007. She is the co-founder with Tom Hutchison of the ISOGG Wiki. She is the group administrator or co-administrator of five DNA projects at Family Tree DNA:
- Group administrator and founder of the Cruwys/Cruse DNA project, established in September 2007
- Group administrator and founder of the Devon DNA project, founded in March 2009
- Group administrator of the mtDNA haplogroup U4 project
- Group administrator and founder of the Kennett DNA project
- Co-administrator of the Aldous DNA project
Debbie lives in the UK. She is an active member of the Guild of One-Name Studies, and her Cruwys/Cruse one-name study is registered with the Guild. She is also a member of the Society of Genealogists, the Berkshire Family History Society, the Devon Family History Society, and the Somerset and Dorset Family History Society. In July 2013 she was appointed as an Honorary Research Associate in the Department of Genetics, Evolution and Environment at University College London. She is the author of two books published by the History Press: DNA and Social Networking (2011) and The Surnames Handbook (2012).
