Here is a brief biography: I trained as a doctor in Dublin (qualified 1986) and a psychiatrist in London (qualified 1991), but I'm more involved in medical research now. I started helping my dad with the family tree in 2006 and quickly became addicted. I have been an ISOGG member since Jan 2011, started the Spearin Surname Project in March 2011 and created a complementary website to support it (at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~spearin/Index.html). My father and I have been DNA tested (Y, mitochondrial, family finder) and await any real breakthroughs.
