Registering a username is optional, to view content on the ISOGG Wiki.

Not everyone can contribute to the ISOGG Wiki, it is required that a future contributor is a member of ISOGG. Once you have joined ISOGG, you can register and then contribute to articles found on the ISOGG Wiki. There are several benefits to registering, including:

  • The ability to create new articles.
  • Having an account gives you many extra features, including more editing options and user preferences. One handy feature is the watchlist, which makes it easier for you to track changes to pages you are interested in. Another is the ability to move or rename a page. (Do not move pages simply through copying and pasting as the edit history is not preserved that way.
  • Some pages, may require users to be administrators or editors before they may be edited. This is to protect the content of these pages because the pages are usually high traffic pages.
  • Only registered users are allowed to become administrators (also known as sysops).

How to register

To register for a Wiki account, click above, or click the Log in/create an account link at the top right corner of any page. We recommend that you choose a user name that resembles your own name, though editors are free to choose a more anonymous online identify if they prefer. The user names are preserved in the edits that you make in the edit history of each article to which you contribute.

Once you have registered make a note of your user name and password. Make sure you enter your email address as part of the registration process so that you can have a new password sent to you if you forget your current one.
